3 Star Cabin
Strömma
Anders Berensson Architects has designed a summer house for three sisters and their mom in the Stockholm archipelago. The house is designed to host three families at one time resulting in a house being shape as a three star with one family sleeping in each end with a social meeting area in the core of the star.
Putting a 3-star shape on a circle also created three verandas. An entry veranda towards the east for the sunrise, a daytime veranda facing south and the fairway and an evening veranda facing the sunset in the west. All verandas are connected through the core of the house. The core is centered around a triangular fireplace that divides the kitchen area with the dining area and the social area. The core has sliding glass doors in all three directions creating a panopticon view of the site as well as creating a connection to the verandas. The three bedrooms have a small French balcony on each gable to get a small private space when needed.
