Anders Berensson Architects together with Wallensteen & Co has designed the reconstruction of an office space for an investment company in Stockholm City Centre. The aim of the reconstruction has been to enhance the building’s existing qualities and emphasize these through smart architectural interventions as well as create a floor plan with more meeting places.
In the new design the suspended ceilings are replaced with visible installations and sound absorption sprayed directly to the primary roof structure to get maximum ceiling height. Wall-to-wall carpets have been replaced by an industrial parquet floor. Previously white windows with white moldings have been rebuilt into window niches made in dark wood veneer.
Dark wood and terrazzo as well as circular shaped spaces have been the primary elements to accentuate functions and architectural features in more public areas such as conference rooms, lounges and relax areas. In some rooms the material is used for custom made furniture such as hat shelves, cabinets, and tables, in some rooms as architectural details and in some rooms the whole space is built in terrazzo and wood.
