For several years, we have been working with the town of Tibro, including its central Hotel Plaza. The project includes a façade renovation that is almost done. Anders Berensson Architects has been commissioned by the Stockholm Centre Party to design a covering for one of the city’s most central traffic routes at Stadsgården in central Stockholm, transforming it into a public space that bridges the gap between Södermalm and the sea.

Tibro Station Laboratory

Anders Berensson is proud to present the first built project by his KTH School of Architecture studio Fabulous Future Factory (FFF) the Tibro Station Laboratory.
This project is a collaboration between the KTH School of Architecture studios FFF and DKV, and the Municipality of Tibro. Together, we are exploring a new future for one of Tibro’s most central buildings through the construction of experimental prototypes. The idea is to open up and activate the building, and from there, discover what functions and activities it could accommodate.
Architecture students from FFF and DKV have collected leftover building components and other discarded materials that were otherwise destined to become waste. Through adaptive reuse, the students have given this ”waste” new life by transforming it into innovative structures and architectural elements.

Check out our latest project Garden Stair House! An extension to a 1960th vacation home on the south coast of Sweden that is situated alongside a garden stair. The stair continues into the house becoming an amphitheater for socializing, watching movies or playing video games.

Anders Berensson Architects in collaboration with Swedish housing company Sommarnöjen has designed a new housing concept Duo. One home in two separate house bodies, one public part for socializing and one private part for resting. The two parts are connected through a glazed entrance. We are proud to present Doorway Squeezed Office! A tiny building designed and built by KTH School of architecture, Master studio,” Out of Practice” co-founded and directed by Anders Berensson. The project is a collaboration between KTH School of architecture and AMF-Fastigheter having students design and build an exploratory full-scale project in the form of an office that can be moved and is small enough to be squeezed through a doorway.

Thermal Mass Sauna Stack

Anders Berensson Architects has designed a Sauna as a cave like stack of wood studs where the thermal mass of the timber absorbs heat and releases it when bathing. The design was commissioned and made in dialogue with legendary photographer and sauna connoisseur Mikkel Aaland in Ulefoss Norway. Mikkel asked for a design of an organic shaped wooden sauna with the finish Sauvasauna as role model. To do so we had to reinvent both the structure and the building physics of the modern Nordic sauna. Please read more about the project by clicking on the link below.
